Location: the hotel is located far from downtown. You must have a Car or get taxi if you want to go around as there are no restaurants near the hotel.

The Lobby: quite impressive. When we arrived the front desk was empty. It turned out they were on the corner. It was probably too sunny where they are located.

Check In: the check in staff was rather serious. No smiling face to welcome you. Check In was hassle free. 500 pesos deposit for the key was asked. The check in staff explained somethings but she talked too fast that i did not get everything she said.

The Room: the room was bright and nice smelling. Balcony. It had a beautiful view of Mount Mayon. The room looked rather tired looking. Carpet needs changing. Wall paper peeling off already. TV is 32″. Coffee and Tea making facility available. There is a Mini Ref. Mini Safe inside the Cabinet. The cabinet looks like the doors were removed. On the bedside table is an alarm/radio. No Laundry Bag provided

Bathroom: quite big but needs cleaning. Saw hair beside the sink. No bidet. Rainshower. Hot and cold water available. Toothbrush, shampoo, body wash, lotion provided. The Shower door needs maintenance.

The Pool: big time disappointment. The water looked murky. Closer inspection of the tiles revealed Black Molds had developed in between tiles. Showers beside pool needs fixing. Restrooms smelled horrible. Did not stay long in the pool as i was afraid it will be itchy.

Breakfast: this was a surprise as breakfast had a wide range of choices. My favorites were the Dried fish, corned beef and pancakes. Walk Ins are accepted at P499 a person.

Service: staff were friendly. And always smiling. The unsmiling check in staff probably was just an isolated incident.

Check Out: Staff was friendly but check out took longer than i expected.

Overall: the Oriental has seen better days. It needs a Major Makeover. Starting with a Major Cleaning. Rooms need to be renovated. And the Pool needs to be CLEANED ASAP!  Breakfast is Good here and worth it. Rates are high (Not worth it for the price) and would stay in a hotel located in downtown Legazpi next time.
