What to See in Singapore

Kusu Island – Singapore’s Pilgrimage Site

I was looking forward to going somewhere different in Singapore so i found an Island not usually on the list of Touristy Places.
Kusu Island is a Pilgrimage Site. During the Ninth Lunar Month Every Year thousands flock to the little island to request for good health, peace, happiness, good luck & prosperity.
The Island of Kusu (St John’s Island) can be reached from the Marina Bay South Pier. Tickets are SGD18 for Adults & SGD12 for Children.

Ticket is already Round Trip.  We arrived past 10am and we thought we already missed the boat.

Around 15 Minutes into the journey you will already see St John’s Island and a different Singapore appears before you. The Trip to St John’s took 30 Minutes then a wait around 10 minutes before the boat headed to Kusu.

At Kusu we went to the Dai Bo Gong Temple. While there we made an offering at the Temple of Success for success and prosperity. Then we went to the Tortoise Sanctuary.

What Else is there to do at the Island? You can have a picnic, go swimming or just sit back & relax. Be sure to bring your own food as there are no food sellers there if its a regular day.

We went back around 12pm. Trip back just took 30 minutes.

To Get to Kusu Island, go to Marina South Pier and look for the Island Cruise table to get your tickets.

Hay Dairies (Singapore)

Hay Dairies Pte Ltd is a small goat farm, with about 1,000 goats of mixed breed, producing milk for sale. The farm uses the latest milking, pasteurising, homogenising and bottling machines to produce very fresh goat’s milk, which it sells directly to customers.
Hay Dairies is Singapore’s Only Goat Farm. It is located at No 3 Lim Ku Chang, Agrotech Park Lane 4, Singapore.
Do not forget to mention Agrotech Park Lane 4 if you will get a Taxi as there are many Lane’s. Some Taxi Drivers do not know the place also. Fresh Goat’s Milk can be purchased at the Farm.

Hort Park (Singapore)

HortPark (Chinese: 园艺园林) is a 23-hectare park located in the South-Western part of Singapore. It is the first one-stop gardening lifestyle hub in Asia[1] that integrates a plethora of activities together under one roof in a park setting. One can find gardening-related, recreational, educational, research and retail activities here at this gardening hub that also doubles as a knowledge hub for gardening information, training & value-added services such as networking opportunities.
Nestled in the Southern Ridges, HortPark serves as a park connector that allows visitors to travel around Kent Ridge Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Mount Faber Park with ease and convenience. This is made possible through the elevated walkways and connecting bridges.
In December 2007, HortPark opened, but it was not until 10 May 2008 that it was officially launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. (from Wikipedia)
During Summer Months it will be very hard to tour the Sprawling Hort Park Compound. So it is better to go there early morning or late afternoon when it is not too hot. For more Information about the Park, how to get there, map, etc. Click on this Underlined Link, The Hort Park.

Bollywood (Singapore)

When you hear or see the word Bollywood you would think of India and its Film Industry and when you think of a Farm you would not think of Singapore. But in Singapore, there exists a place called “Bollywood” and it is also a Farm.
I never thought that a City State like Singapore had farms, but there are. Located in the Kranji Countryside, Bollywood stands out in Singapore. I had a fun day exploring the farm and seeing all the Fruits and Vegetables they grow.

Bollywood is owned by Mrs Ivy Singh Lim and Mr Lim Ho Seng. It is a 10 acre Farm located at 100 Neo Tiew Road, Kranji Countryside, Singapore. Open Wednesday to Sundays 9am to 6pm.
