Aling Taleng’s Halo-Halo (Pagsanjan, Laguna)

Located along the Pagsanjan-Cavinte Road. If coming from Los Banos, turn right after the Municipal Hall. Aling Taleng’s is just after the Bridge. If coming from Rizal, just go straight.

The last time i had a glass of Aling Taleng’s Halo Halo was probably 2 years ago. I can still not forget how delicious it was. After our lunch at Emin & Mila’s it was time for dessert and what better place to have it than at Aling Taleng’s.

We ordered their Halo-Halo (P85.00). After a few minutes our glasses of Shaved Ice topped with Kundol arrived. The Halo Halo was hard to mix, i tried my best to prevent more ice to fall off. After mixing the Halo Halo, i digged in and savored the sweet and cold feeling. I was a bit disappointed though with the Kundol. I remember it as having a bit of crunch. The kundol served was a bit mushy.

I still enjoyed Aling Taleng’s Halo Halo despite the disappointing Kundol (Winter Melon). There will be another time and hopefully next time will be better, still i consider Aling Taleng’s as One of the Best Halo Halo in the Country.

Emin & Mila’s Canteen (Pagsanjan, Laguna)

Emin & Mila’s Canteen is located along Rizal Street in Pagsanjan. It is just near the Municipal Hall.

When we went to Paete we headed to Pagsanjan for Lunch. we decided on Emin & Mila’s Canteen. Despite it being a Canteen it isnt the type wherein you will line up, tell or point to what you want to eat and pay. This is a sit down canteen where you will be given a menu.

I ordered the meals which they said are there specialties. Kaldereta, Bicol Express and Lechon Paksiw.

The kaldereta was okay, the Bicol Express was really spicy, the Lechon Paksiw was the one that i really liked. Prices at Emin and Mila’s are very reasonable and service is fast. We paid less than 300 for what we ordered including rice.

Food Trip: Kalahi Bakery (San Pablo City, Laguna)

As based from the sign of the Bakeshop, they have been in existence since 1942. Inside is a paradise for bread lovers as you will find a variety of breads and pastries. We ordered the Chocolate cake and the Yema Cake.

The Yema Cake i did not really like but the Chocolate Cake was Good (this is their Specialty)

Location: The Kalahi Bakeshop is located along T Azucena Street in San Pablo City. It is the street beside the Cathedral. It is just a 2-3 Minute walk from the Cathedral.

Food Trip: Si Christina (San Pablo City, Laguna)

Si Christina is a Gem of San Pablo City. When I got a taste of their Brazo de Mercedez (Frozen) i was hooked! It was so delicious that i wanted to order another slice. Their Sans Rival is also undeniably DELICIOUS. It is close to Perfection and is the BEST SANS RIVAL in the Country for me (The Unnamed Sans Rival Comes in Second). This made the trip to San Pablo worth it.

Aside from Cakes they also have food like sandwiches, ribs, pasta etc.

Location of Si Christina: Si Christine is located in Rizal Avenue. Beside the Jose Rizal Monument and just in front of the Cathedral.

Parking: Just Street Parking, if ever there is no parking, just park inside the Cathedral compound and walk to Si Christina.

Food Trip: Bonito’s (LB, Laguna)

What: Lunch
When: July 10, 2012

Our Order:
Pepperoni Grilled Pizza – Delicious! Though would have preffered the crust to be crispier, it was still delicious.

5Spice Spare Ribs Combo – Delicious as well. The meat was very tender. It was very tasty.

Rosemary Chicken Combo – Quite good. Would have preffered it to have more flavor.

Kalderetang Batangas Combo – Good also. The beef was tender and the kaldereta sauce was full of flavor.

I enjoyed our

Herb Republic (Los Banos, Laguna)

Today we had a different kind of lunch, an Organic One.

We started off with the French Onion Soup and Crispy Spinach. Then the Roasted Rose Mary Chicken, Crispy Spinach and Crispy Pata. We ordered Lemon Grass Drink to gulp it all down.

The French Onion Soup tasted different from the French Onion Soup’s I am used to. It was not as creamy as the regular french Onion Soup and there was no taste of Onions or hint of Onion.

The Roasted Rose Mary Chicken meanwhile lacked that juiciness and flavor I was expecting of a Roasted Rose Mary Chicken so better to use the Dipping sauces that comes with it. The Crispy Pata meanwhile was okay, the skin was crispy and delicious but the meat wasnt juicy like other Crispy Pata’s i have tasted.

The Crispy Spinach was good. And the accompanying dip was just perfect.

Herb Republic is a Must Try Restaurant for the Health Conscious since it uses ALL Organic. It is a must try for everyone also as Organic is definitely the way we must all go.

Herb Republic is located along the National Highway going to Bay, Laguna (On the Left Side) and just before the new Mer Nell’s.

Mer-Nel’s (Los Banos, Laguna)

Whenever we are in Los Banos or pass by Los Banos we always make it a point to buy Chocolate Cake at Mer-Nel’s. Their chocolate cake is VERY GOOD! It is moist and the sweetness is just perfect. Even if it is cold, it is good.
They have 2 Branches. The one we usually go to is the one near Bay. Their original Branch is the one near UPLB.
This is the Medium Heart Shaped Chocolate Cake. Price is P180.00

RSM Restaurant Calamba, Laguna

We were supposed to eat at Arla’s in Los Banos but it was closed so we ended up at RSM in Calamba.

I thought it was going to be another RG Experience since it is a Turo Turo type restaurant also.
We ordered the following, Pork Sisig, Adobong Pusit, Bulalo and Rice.

Pork Sisig-The Sisig lacked crunchiness which i always look for in Sisig. But nonetheless it was okay.

Adobong Pusit– RSM did a great job with their adobong pusit. The taste reminds me of the Adobong Pusit cooked at home, but this one was better! The squid was cooked just right.

Special Bulalo– The Bulalo is packed with Meat! It is worth ordering specially if there are a lot of you.

Rice wrapped in Banana – The rice is something worth mentioning. It is a surprise. Inside is a tomatoe and egg. And underneath it is salt! Definitely the perfect partner for their fried tawilis.
