Where to Eat-Cebu

Kuya J’s (Cebu City)

Address: Tojong Street, Cebu City
Location: located near Quest Hotel, Mandarin, Parklane, Diamond Suites.
We ordered the following when we dined here for dinner. Kare-kare (P260) Baked Scallops (P165) Adobong Kangkong.

Overall, the food was very good. The kare-kare and scallops were very good. I liked the bagoong with the kare-kare a lot! Its the type of bagoong i like.

So far, i have not ordered anything from Kuya J’s (first tried eating at their Sta Mesa branch) that i did not like. Their service is good too.
Kuya J’s is just new but they have made quite an impression with their food.

Zubuchon (Mactain Cebu International Airport)

Anthony Bourdain considers Zzubuchon the best pig ever. If you will eat Zubuchon at the Airport that statement you will not agree with that.

The lechon they serve at the airport is too oily. It tastes good but its far from the best.

I got their Boneless Lechon with Rice for 190.00 plus their Iced Citrus Lemon Tea (forgot if thats the right term for P75). I think it would be better to tastes Zubuchon at their branches outside the Airport where the lechon served is fresh.

Lantaw Native Restaurant (Busay, Cebu City)

When we where in Cordova we were supposed to eat at Lantaw but never got to. This time we decided to try Lantaw in Busay.

Lantaw is located in the Mountains of Busay. It is quite far from Downtown Cebu and you will need to negotiate with a Taxi driver to go here.

When you reach Lantaw, the view of Cebu City, Mactan, Olango and Bohol will greet you. It is a sight to behold. At night the view will turn to a sea of lights. It is best to go here around 5pm when you can see Cebu City, Mactan, Olango and Bohol and wait for nightfall.

When we arrived, we seated ourselves and it wasnt for a few minutes before we were given the Menu. We ordered the following, Grilled Tuna Belly, Kilawin, Utan Bisaya, Chorizo and Buko Shake.

Grilled Tuna Belly – i doubt if it was fresh because it did not taste fresh. It was rather fishy to my taste. Disappointing.

Kilawin – Different from the kilawin i am used to. They used gata. Disappointed also with this.

Utan – Similar to Laswa. But Their version lacks flavor.

Chorizo – Regular tasting

Buko Shake – Delicious. Something i enjoyed.

Overall, the food was so so but the ambience was spectacular but would not consider eating at Lantaw again. There are better places with better food in Cebu.

Wel & Vic Kan-Anan (Lapu Lapu City, Cebu)

Located along the main road in a simple structure this Kan-Anan has become a favorite of ours. Their food here is CHEAP and Delicious. I like their pork-chop here, just sinfully delicious. Their grilled fish and fish soup are also worth ordering. A lot of people eat here from students, workers to Well to do looking Individuals.

Located along ML Quezon Avenue . Near General Milling Corp.

Linuto ni Nanay (Airport Road, Lapu Lapu City)

Linuto Ni Nanay is hard to miss, it is along the way to the Airport, just after Islands Souvenirs.

We ordered their Sinigang na Tanigue, Kilawin Tanigue and Pork BBQ.

Everything was good but i particularly liked the kilawin tanigue. I loved the level of spiciness. It could have used more onions though.

Prices here are reasonable, service is fast and friendly.

Linuto ni Nanay is located along Airport Road in Lapu Lapu City. On the right side going to the Airport
